Rotakids and Photography Awards 2018

On Thursday June 21 there was a wonderful Awards Ceremony for the first of Ludlow Rotary’s RotaKids Clubs. The club, at Clee Hill Community Academy, involves Year 6 pupils.

Mr Rhoderick Swire DL, High Sheriff for Shropshire, presented the awards in formal attire and he explained the history of the High Sheriff’s office to the children. For more photographs, please visit the Gallery

The Rotary Award for the Best Scrapbook – In the first year of RotaKids the pupils in their final year chose to record memories, photographs, reports and pictures. This was not obligatory and each scrapbook is individual. Tom George won a £10 book token for the Best Scrapbook.

The District Young Photographer Awards -Clee Hill Community Academy has been entering the Rotary District Young Photographer for some years. Announcing the results, the Young Photographer District Co-ordinator, David Stubbs commented that with his wife Janet he began the competition fourteen years ago. David presented certificates and prints to three Clee Hill Community Academy pupils who had been shortlisted in the Primary School section of the Photography Awards. Archie Harding was the overall winner of the colour section, Faye Williams was third and Henry Gatehouse was Highly Commended.
