STROKE AWARENESS DAY 28TH MAY 2016
A Stroke Awareness Day is being organized by Ludlow Rotary Club in conjunction with the Stroke Association and local health professionals. This free event, to be held in Oscar’s at the Assembly Rooms, Ludlow, on Saturday 28th May is open to any adult who wishes to know if they may be at risk from a stroke. Doors open at 10 am and close at 3 pm.
A visit to the Stroke Awareness Day will enable people, who do not have regular medical treatment, to identify factors which may lead to a stroke. All who attend will be offered a blood pressure check. Where appropriate, blood glucose level will be tested. The individual’s body mass index will be calculated from a measurement of their weight and height. This is a useful measure for calculating risk, especially for people who have raised blood pressure.
People who attend will be given a Personal Information Record. Anyone with an identifiable risk factor will be counselled about their condition and what appropriate action they should take.
Attendance is FREE, no appointment is needed and a visit is potentially life-saving.
