Ludlow Rotary Cares 2017 \u2013 Making a difference in our community<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Here is some feedback from organisations that received Ludlow Rotary Cares Grants in 2017.<\/p>\n

The Loudwater Studio: <\/strong>Nikki Hook,\u00a0Business Development Manager at Loudwater Studio writes:\u00a0<\/em>We are now regularly welcoming young pre-school children to the Studio every Thursday who are having fun trying out a range of different creative activities. We also recently ran a workshop with Ludlow Youth Club who were making ceramic poppies.<\/em><\/p>\n

The aim is for us to make over 100, of these (one for every local life lost in WWI) and the Youth Club gave the project a boost by making poppies both for the community project and to take home. It was a great session, with everyone having fun.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ludlow Rotary Cares helps SpArc Theatre to hold an autism friendly event –\u00a0<\/b>Liz Still of SpArc Theatre in Bishops Castle writes:<\/p>\n

Hello, I just wanted to write and let you know about our Film Screening. We had showed Despicable Me 3 on December 1<\/i>st<\/sup><\/i> \u00a0for our Autism friendly accessible film.<\/i><\/p>\n

The \u00a0award evening in Ludlow was lovely and I was able to make new contacts with other groups which I hope to build on in the future. \u201cWorking Together\u201d were planning to bring a group to see the film but due to transport and other logistical issues they were unable to come. We had about 25 people attend and they really enjoyed the film. The atmosphere was really lovely and everyone came out smiling.<\/i><\/p>\n

Working Together Ludlow<\/strong> – Nicola North, CEO (voluntary) Working Together (Ludlow) Ltd\u00a0emailed \u00a0to say:<\/p>\n

\"\"I have attached a photograph which features one of our members in front of the Rotary bought freezer. <\/em>She is filing in the fridge and freezer temperature chart as part of the duties involved in running the Cafe. \u00a0<\/em>This activity is now undertaken by more of our members since the fund from Rotary not only enabled us to buy a commercial freezer, replacing an old inefficient chest model. \u00a0But also encouraged the replacement and purchase of another old freezer.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ludlow Town Juniors <\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Club Secretary, Katrina Tomkinson, emailed \u201cWith all the rain and snow we have had in the last couple of months we have had few opportunities to get our new mower out. I have attached some pictures for you. Once again can I thank you and the Rotary Club for your generosity it has been a huge help to a Ludlow Town Juniors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Craven Arms Play Day 2018\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the second year in a row, Craven Arms Area Youth Group we were extremely grateful to be awarded a grant of \u00a3500 from Ludlow Rotary Club, which enabled us to organise a fantastic FREE play day for South Shropshire on the Monday 6th<\/sup>August. The weather was glorious (even a little too hot if we were honest!) for our event and we were indebted to the following organisations for attending and supporting the range of activities we had on offer again this year:<\/p>\n
