Toasting the Bard in aid of End Polio Now

On Friday night Ludlow Rotary Club hosted at the Feathers Hotel a very enjoyable Burns night for members, their partners and guests. The haggis was duly addressed and toasted following the Selkirk Grace.

After the diner entertainment was opened by the Ludlow Male Voice Choir Sextet signing songs by Burns, followed by the fiddle of Andy Cook playing Scottish airs and then on to the “Immortal Memory” presented by Angus Kerr.

The highlight of the evening was a recital of Tam O’ Shanter in the vernacular by Robert Hodge.

The evening was rounded off with Scottish dancing and closed with Auld Lang Syne. The raffle collected over £230 for the Rotary International campaign End Polio Now. For every £1 donated by Rotary, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation add a further £2.
