Junior Community Awards 2017


Pupils at Clee Hill Community Academy school celebrated their completion of the Rotary Junior Community Award scheme in a special afternoon assembly, attended by the Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Tim Gill.  He awarded the children medals and certificates alongside the President of Ludlow Rotary Club, who sponsor this award.  The fifteen pupils of Year 6 all developed new sports and activities and helped raise over £500 for the Midlands Air Ambulance with a cake sale and Christmas Fair.

They also took part in the Rotary sponsored Photographic competition which received over 1000 entries from schools in Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Staffordshire.  Erin Lewis won third prize for her still life photo of a bunch of grapes, cleverly depicting light and dark shades.

Jasmine Coleman’s photograph won the Rotary District Governor, Mr John Sayer’s ‘favourite in show’ prize .

Clee Hill school also won third prize for their Portfolio Collection co-ordinated by their teachers, Mrs Julia Hilton and Ms Ruth Pickford. 13/07/17.
