The Rotary Club of Ludlow, founded in 1938, recently celebrated its 70th Charter.
Ludlow is a town of outstanding beauty and fascinating history. In the 1300's Ludlow became the country's second centre of royal and political intrigue and its Castle held the two young princes before they were murdered in the Tower. Prince Arthur, older brother of Henry VIII, died here and his heart is said to be buried
within the walls
of St Laurence' Church.
Nowadays popular for its scenic beauty, gourmet food and several annual Festivals, Ludlow boasts over 500 listed buildings, many of them superbly timbered and well preserved. Among these we cannot fail to highlight its magnificent 800-year-old parish church and Norman castle, both still in daily use and regionally acclaimed as venues for the arts, culture and festivals.
